Bear Lake Rd Closed due to Fire in RMNP

Current Park Fires
As of 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 09, 2012, a 300 acre fire is burning approximately two miles west of the Fern Lake Trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park. The fire is burning in steep terrain to the north of the Fern Lake Trail. Fire personnel are on scene and there is no estimated containment at this time. No structures are currently threatened.
Due to the fire, the following closures are in effect: Bear Lake Road, Moraine Park Campground, all trails west of Bear Lake Road and south of Trail Ridge Road, and Upper Beaver Meadows Road. Please call 970-586-1381 for more information.
This information will be updated by 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10. The fire began 2 miles west of the Fern Lake Trail Head, which is only 1 mile from the boulders in Moraine Park.
