Summer Monsoon

Posted on 06. Aug, 2010 by in News

Each year in August, the monsoon rains swell up from the south west and it rains here in Colorado. This past weekend was mostly rainy and I ended up sitting in a several caves for about four hours waiting out the rain. The boulders never dried. It looks as though things will continue to be wet for a few days, but the fall is coming. I did all the moves on Evil Backwards V14 and I would really like to try to finish this before the road to Lincoln Lake closes in mid-September.
My good friend Ryan Olson is back in town and hopefully the weather will be better this weekend. In the meantime, check out
Iclimb for a great short from Chuck Fryberger about Daniel Woods bouldering at Wolverineland.

Your story reminds me of that REI commercial where the group of hikers are stuck under a rock while it rains.
