The Future is Now

Will ubiquitous internet access make physical guidebooks obsolete? Here is a new climbing guide app. for the Iphone. More information can be found by searching for the app on Itunes. I really enjoying having a physical book to hold, but perhaps guidebooks will become more like coffee table items, with less information and more tradition. Thoughts?

I think print is just becoming obsolete.
With the ever increasing cost of paper and expensive inks and chemicals,
its pretty much a no brainer to cut that cost out and stay digital.
In addition, the content is easier to change and update on a regular basis.
That way outdated info like projects being sent and holds breaking will become a thing of the past.
Any printed book in the future will be so expensive that the climbing industry will probably just not be able to afford it (20 years?).

BTW thanks for hanging out in South Dakota 😉
